In today’s world, there is an app for nearly everything. This new app which we have today is going to change the definition of the reading. Spritz, a Boston-based software development team, has been working for three years, playing with their program and experimenting it out on different eBooks, apps and other platforms.
Spritz, is planning to go public with one of the No.1 Android Company, Samsung. Rapid visual presentation to enhance reading experience has been offered before too. But Spritz is about to change the game forever. What Spritz does is manipulated the foremost of the words to line them up, more appropriately with the eye’s natural reading motion.
The “Optimal Recognition Point” (ORP technology is in which your brain starts to process each word or sees. Your eyes don’t have to move and can focus on just one point. That’s what that differs it from RSVP.) is slightly left of the center of each word, and is the precise point at which our brain deciphers each jumble of letters. What Spritz does differently is that, it identifies the ORP of each word and makes it red. All the ORP’s are presented in the same space on the screen. This helps to halt the motion of our eyes and we can therefore process information instantaneously rather than decoding each word.
With this amazing app you can reach the goal of reading around 1,000 words a minute. With the Spritz upcoming app, which would be coming soon to Samsung’s flagship Android device, Galaxy S5 and Samsung Gear 2 smart watch, words would appear as a single point on the screen and would rapidly succeed by the next word. This phenomenon would allow anyone to read at the speed of around 250 to 1,000 words a minute. A normal college level student reads at a speed of 200 to 400 words a minute.
A few of the other apps like Velocity also have similar kind of technology, allowing for a much faster reading experience. Rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) has also been there from the past few years and have proven to be really successful for many.
The one-word-at-a-time technology is really for smaller devices mainly for Smartphones and Smart Watches. Say no to scrolling or zooming, this Boston-based company Spritz which claims to be in Stealth Mode from past three years is working on licensing this technology.
Here we have the graphical representation what Spritz has to offer. Just keep your eyes at a fixed point while reading:
